Texas Revolution: 1835 Phase - Color Coding - Animated Map - Oral Practice - Silent Reading - Brief Discussion of Historian's Opinion

Students focused on the October-December 1835 phase of the Texas Revolution:

  • Finished color coding the paper copy of the 1835/1836 map, using a digital version for assistance; discussed the symbols drawn by a former student to help remember some of the battles
  • Used an Animated Map of the Texas Revolution to learn the chronology of the two phases
  • Did some oral practice in preparation for tomorrow's Quiz over the 1835 Phase of the TxRev
  • Read textbook Ch. 9/Secs 1 & 2 on the 1835 Phase
  • Discussed briefly an opinion from William C. Davis' Lone Star Rising in which the historian argues that the Texans were primarily responsible for the Texas Revolution
