Chapter 7 Summary - Using Austin's Journal & 1822 Map - Contrasting Austin's Texas with Spanish Explorers' Texas - Population Growth 1821-1845

Today our students:

• Read and made individual presentations on the Chapter 7 Summary: Age of Empresarios
• Imagined Austin advertising to attract settlers to his colony in the 1820's and using his journal and 1822 map we analyzed yesterday to emphasize positive features while omitting negative features; student analysis here
• Contrasted Austin's portrayal of Texas in his journal with that of Spanish explorers Coronado & Moscoso
• Analyzed a graph showing population growth in Texas between 1821-1845
