After chapel, students:
- Tended to administrative and organizational details, checking grades, missing assignments, etc.
- Began reading and following directions on a handout in anticipation of reading William Golding's novel, Lord of the Flies
- The handout, "Shipwrecked in Outer Space," puts students at a crash site on another planet and asks them to rank 16 possible tasks that need to be carried out.
- In LOTF, a group of English schoolboys being evacuated during World War II crash land on an apparently deserted island and deal with their survival situation.
